Built Over Time: Relationships that Shape a Construction Legacy
Long-standing partnerships across Pittsburgh continue to reflect the trust, adaptability, and collaboration that have shaped Shannon Construction for more than 55 years.
In commercial construction, projects may last months, but relationships often span generations.
For Shannon Construction, some of the company’s most meaningful work has not been defined by a single building or project, but by long-standing partnerships built through decades of trust, responsiveness, adaptability, and shared history.
Across Pittsburgh, Shannon has worked alongside property owners, developers, and institutions through changing industries, evolving spaces, and generations of leadership. While ownership, tenants, and industries may evolve over time, Shannon Construction’s familiarity with these properties and long-standing relationships have allowed the company to remain a trusted construction partner across decades of change.
These enduring relationships reflect a core belief that successful construction is about more than completing projects. It is about consistently showing up, solving problems, and helping clients evolve over time.
US Steel Tower
In 1985, Shannon Construction President Ken Schultz was selected by Galbreath Corporation as Construction Manager overseeing all projects within USX Tower. His deep knowledge of the building helped establish relationships that have evolved into more than 30 years of collaboration and dozens of projects within one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic buildings.

Pittsburgh International Airport | Retail & Restaurants
The Airmall debuted alongside the opening of the new Pittsburgh International Airport terminal in 1992, introducing an innovative retail and dining experience for travelers. Since then, Shannon Construction has maintained a long-standing partnership within the airport, completing numerous restaurant and retail projects over the years.
More than three decades later, Shannon remains actively involved in the airport’s continued evolution, proudly completing multiple retail and restaurant upgrades and new tenant spaces as part of the opening of Pittsburgh International Airport’s new terminal in 2025.

M&J Wilkow | Penn Center East
Shannon Construction’s work within Penn Center East began under the property’s former ownership and has continued to evolve in partnership with M&J Wilkow through decades of tenant improvements, renovations, and redevelopment projects across the campus.
