Shannon Wins MBA Award for Transformative Renovation of WVU’s Historic Chitwood Hall

Shannon Construction is proud to announce that we have received the MBA’s 2024 Award for Renovation Under $4 Million for our work on Chitwood Hall at West Virginia University (WVU). Completed in December 2023, this project involved a full interior and exterior renovation of the 130-year-old building on WVU’s historic campus.

Master Builder's Association Awards Runner up: Commonwealth Charter Academy Johnstown

Shannon Construction was named Runner-Up in the 2022 Master Builders Association (MBA) Building Excellence Awards in the Renovation Construction category for projects valued between $5 million and $10 million for its work on the Commonwealth Charter Academy Johnstown campus. The recognition highlights the successful transformation of a historic, century-old building into a modern educational facility through exceptional craftsmanship, collaboration, and innovative problem-solving, while navigating complex site conditions and an aggressive schedule. This honor reflects Shannon’s continued commitment to quality, safety, teamwork, and delivering outstanding results for its clients.

Category: Renovation Construction Over $10 Million

The Master Builder Awards were held virtually on February 25, 2021. The 2021 edition of The Construction Industry Evening of Excellence for Western PA was special for Shannon Construction. We were honored as a recipient of a 2020 MBA Building Excellence Award.

Shannon had both finalists in the 'Renovation Construction Over $10 Million' category, the Terminal 21 Apartments and the Waterfront Tech Center/Commonwealth Charter Academy projects. We won for our Terminal 21 Apartment project.

2020 Pittsburgh NAIOP Awards: The Waterfront in Pittsburgh

Redevelopment of the Year Award from NAIOP. The conversion of a former free-standing department store at The Waterfront in Pittsburgh into a state of the art 100% pre-leased corporate home for Siemens and CCA was a dream project.

Strada, Shannon, BIG Shopping Centers, and MJ Wilkow were recognized by NAIOP Pittsburgh for this transformative and trend setting nature of this redevelopment!

Pittsburgh NAIOP Awards: 420 Boulevard of the Allies

In Partnership with MJ Wilkow for Renovation

420 Boulevard of the Allies involved extensive renovations to the 157,290 square foot core and shell to re-purpose the building from the former Art Institute of Pittsburgh to a commercial office use.
