Shannon Construction is proud to announce the successful, company-wide rollout of HH2, a cloud-based remote construction payroll platform that’s already making a big impact across our operations. This marks a major milestone—and a true team achievement!

Getting HH2 up and running was no small task. It required thoughtful planning, cross-department coordination, and a strong focus on aligning the system with how we work. Thanks to the collaboration and engagement of teams across the company, the rollout has been smooth and successful.

The payroll project was led by Joni Rumelfanger, Payroll Manager, who played a key role in managing the implementation from start to finish. Angela Kirk, Controller, and Sandra Shaw, VP, provided daily support to ensure a successful implementation.

HH2 has modernized the way we manage time tracking, payroll, and field-to-office communication. Foremen can now review and approve hours in real time, giving them better visibility into crew hours, sick days, and vacation time—helping reduce delays and last-minute scrambles. The foremen have especially embraced HH2’s mobile tools, accessing the system anytime from the field. Superintendent Michael Kaminsky has also taken an active role in reviewing and approving time. As a result, the entire payroll process is now faster and more accurate.

“Our team jumped in quickly and embraced the change,” said Joni Rumelfanger. “I’m so impressed with how everyone came together to make this happen. It’s made a big difference in how we manage time and attendance data.”

Pablo Sagastume, Accounts Payable Specialist, and Cecelia Kruly, Accounts Receivable Manager, also played key roles by leading the transition on the AP front. They successfully migrated accounts payable data and are now finalizing the integration. “HH2 is very user-friendly for managing receipts and invoice documentation,” said Pablo. “It’s streamlined a lot of our day-to-day tasks and improved efficiency.”

“Switching to HH2 shows we’re not just keeping pace—we’re improving how we work,” said Angela Kirk, Controller. Beyond improving workflows, HH2 enhances transparency and ensures everyone is working with the most up-to-date information—whether in the office or on-site. It’s not just about streamlining processes; it’s about equipping our people with tools that help them succeed.

Harnessing Technology: How Shannon Construction Uses BIM and OpenSpace to Deliver Smarter Projects

At Shannon Construction, we don’t just adopt technology—we use the right tools to build smarter, faster, and with greater transparency.

At Shannon Construction, we don’t just adopt technology—we use the right tools to build smarter, faster, and with greater transparency. Two of the most impactful tools in our toolbox are Building Information Modeling (BIM) and OpenSpace, working together to drive efficiency, coordination, and quality.

We use BIM 360 to model mechanical details of a project before construction begins. This intelligent 3D modeling process allows us to detect system conflicts, coordinate trades, and refine scheduling. Through our integration with OpenSpace, we can overlay these 3D models directly onto our site captures, bringing even greater clarity and accuracy to field conditions during the construction phase.

OpenSpace uses a 360° camera mounted on a hardhat to document project progress during normal site walks. These images are automatically mapped to floorplans and uploaded to the cloud, creating a time-stamped, navigable visual record accessible to the entire team—whether onsite or remote.

“OpenSpace has become an essential tool in my day-to-day work, giving me real-time visibility into each jobsite across the state without needing to be physically present,” says Nick Rosky, Senior Project Manager. “With the BIM 360 integration, we can overlay the model directly onto our captures, streamlining coordination, catching issues early, and ultimately saving time and resources.”

“Clients love it because they can see the job without being there—it builds trust and keeps communication strong,” adds Leanne Mazur, Project Administrator.

By integrating BIM and OpenSpace into our daily Construction Management Agency projects, Shannon Construction ensures smarter coordination, stronger communication, and a more transparent, tech-forward building process.
