Shannon Construction recently completed a full-floor buildout for Meyer Unkovic & Scott at the U.S. Steel Tower, supporting the firm’s relocation from its longtime home in the Oliver Building into a newly right-sized, modern workspace. Meyer, Unkovic & Scott LLP is a Pittsburgh-based business law firm serving local, national and international companies, financial institutions, business ventures and individuals. Delivered in partnership with Winthrop and Stantec, the project reflects a strategic shift toward a more efficient and connected office environment.

The buildout brought together two existing suites into a cohesive layout, creating a balanced mix of private offices, open work areas, and conference rooms. A new reception area and glass-front meeting spaces establish a strong front-of-house presence, while a café-style breakroom and lounge areas support day-to-day collaboration. Updated finishes and lighting create a clean, modern environment that enhances both functionality and overall experience.

The project was delivered in partnership with M&J Wilkow, who engaged Shannon Construction to execute the buildout. Raines, a growing full-service business law firm, sought to create a modern, highly functional workplace designed to support continued growth and client-focused operations.

Shannon delivered a commercial office tenant fit-out for Decision Resources, a leading ERP implementation partner for manufacturing organizations, on the 53rd floor of the US Steel Tower in downtown Pittsburgh. The project transformed an existing suite into a modern, efficient workplace through selective interior demolition and reconfiguration.

The updated space features private and executive offices, a conference room, kitchenette with pantry, copy area, and dedicated storage. Work was completed within an active high-rise environment while maintaining building operations, emergency egress, and all life-safety, security, and HVAC systems.

This project reflects Shannon’s strength in delivering high-quality commercial office environments for professional services and technology-driven clients.

The newly refreshed Tech Mill third floor speculative suite is a bright, modern, move-in-ready office space designed to give future tenants a fresh start in one of Lawrenceville’s most active buildings.

The 6,600+ square-foot suite was reimagined to feel open, comfortable, and flexible for a wide range of companies. It now features a welcoming reception area, a fully updated café and break area, several open collaboration spaces, and a central workstation zone with plenty of natural light. For teams that need privacy or focus rooms, the layout includes private offices, huddle rooms, a wellness room, and a dedicated war room for group strategy sessions.

The updated finishes help the space feel polished and modern. New luxury vinyl flooring, fresh paint, tile accents, and new casework in the café all come together to create a clean, professional look. Glass-front offices and conference rooms keep the space bright and open while still offering privacy.

Behind the scenes, the suite is also equipped with easy plug-and-play power and data setups, TV-ready walls, and updated lighting, making it simple for a new tenant to move in and get to work right away.

Shannon Construction was hired by Winthrop Management to build out a new pickleball court inside the Steelfit tenant amenity space at the iconic US Steel Tower in downtown Pittsburgh. This project transformed underused space on the concourse level into a bright, modern court that offers a fun, high-quality recreational option for building tenants.

Work included removing old walls, ceilings, lighting, and mechanical systems, then installing a new layout with energy-efficient lighting, upgraded HVAC, durable sports flooring, and improved fire protection. The design also added a fourth exit to enhance safety and improve traffic flow in and out of the space.

RIZZO International, Inc., an engineering and consulting firm headquartered in Pittsburgh, needed additional space to support their growing team. The move presented an opportunity to introduce a refreshed brand identity alongside a bold new office environment, highlighted by a vibrant pink and orange color palette.

Having partnered with RIZZO on their headquarters renovation in 2012, Shannon Construction was a natural choice to support this next chapter. Longtime partner M&J Wilkow brought Shannon on board to deliver the new build-out for RIZZO, who previously occupied space in a different building within Penn Center East.

The project scope included 18 executive offices, a glass-walled conference room, two training rooms, and a kitchenette with a dedicated dining area. The space was further enhanced with upgraded mechanical and AV systems to support modern workplace needs. Fresh paint, striking wallpaper, modern lighting, and contemporary décor complete a bright, welcoming environment designed to support collaboration and continued growth for RIZZO’s expanding team.

As the Construction Manager for Pittsburgh Gateways owner of 1436 Bedford Ave, Shannon partnered with WAY Architecture and successfully completed numerous occupied and vacant renovations for the Energy Innovation Center. From classrooms to elevators to complete overhaul renovations, Pittsburgh Gateways and the tenants have repeatedly selected Shannon Construction as the Construction Manager at Risk

Pittsburgh Gateways recently contracted with Shannon Construction to Construction Manage 3 projects at EIC in 2024. UPMC classrooms (5,500 SF) received new kitchenettes, flooring, paint, and mechanicals. Core Power classroom (11,000 SF) was renovated for a light industrial lab training space which included sealing concrete floors, mechanical, new bathroom, paint and lighting. Cox MPP classroom (5,500 SF) and office space included a kitchenette, lighting mechanical and office finishes.

ServiceLink, an industry leader in mortgage services, contracted with Shannon to renovate 45,000SF of their Pittsburgh Office. Key to this upgrade was installing a GRID elevated floor system throughout the office which managed their power and cabling. This new floor system installation required a multi-phased project plan for this occupied space. In addition to the raised floor system, the renovation included new FALK wall systems for offices, upgraded lighting and new finishes. Total cost of the project was $3.8M.
